What a showcase at Le Nid looks like
A workshop-flat in the 20th arrondissement: bare wood floors, fairy lights, and everyone sitting in a circle around the instruments. Fifteen of us, no more.

Good to know before you come
⏱ You choose the date — the start time is firm
The session starts on time, with a presentation. Arriving late means missing information, and the whole group has to be brought back up to speed. If you arrive early, you can wait downstairs in the courtyard — no problem at all.
Allow plenty of time
The programme runs about 2h — in practice it usually stretches closer to 3h, because the conversations keep going well past the end.
🧁 Bring something to share, if you feel like it
A fruit juice, a cake, anything to pass around. Entirely optional, never a condition for coming — simply in a spirit of sharing, to make the moment warmer.

What happens in a session
Each session lasts about 2 hours: a time to listen, watch demos and talk — then the moment when you get to play.

I play for you: the raw sound, then with effects (octaver, reverb, looper) and singing along — the interface projected on screen.

Handpan Constellation Studio, the app that makes music visible
A live demo: the colours, the chord constellations, and how you learn by seeing music instead of decoding sheet music.

My two Yishama acoustic handpans, miked with the Hisong and Muling microphones — to compare and hear the difference.

The Gonilélé and the calabash
The Gonilélé African harp and the calabash are out on the floor too: I play them, I explain how you get started with them — and if that is what you came for, you are exactly in the right place.

An open exchange: I answer everyone, from the curious beginner to the seasoned musician.

Your turn to play
Try both Neotone — one on a speaker, one on headphones — and my two Yishama acoustic handpans. Take your time to feel each instrument. The Gonilélé and the calabash are there too: pick them up.
✨ And sometimes it goes further
Depending on who is there and what they are interested in, the session can open up further: a demo of the Gonilélé in a live setting — with the effects and the octaver pedal, on a professional Bose PA in concert conditions —, the calabash, and even the shamanic drum “l’Âme du tambour”. It is not systematic: it depends on the people there that day and on what interests them. Tell me what draws you, I take it into account.
Children welcome, under their parents’ responsibility. The demonstration, talk and Q&A part can feel a little long for younger ones, so consider bringing a quiet activity, or a second adult to take over if needed.

To be clear: only the Neotone is in stock here — it is the only one you can take home the same day. The Yishamas are my personal instruments: they are here to be heard and played, and if you want your own, I point you to the workshop (I am an ambassador and affiliate).

The Gonilélé harp
The West African harp-lute from La Maison du Ngoni, in its travel version: a calabash body, a noble-wood neck, strings tuned to a pentatonic scale. Intuitive and meditative — you can approach it knowing nothing at all.

I have played the calabash as a percussion instrument since 2012. It is also the heart of my Now Groove rhythm method: an organic drum kit with a natural sound, with its mat and its shakers.

And something to put your handpan on
Atlas builds handpan tripods in Italy: the instrument rests on a floating disc held by eight scratch-resistant magnets, with nothing screwed or strapped onto the metal. I have just become a partner of the brand, and they are sending me both models as demonstration stands. They will be here alongside the handpans — you can set an instrument on one and adjust the height yourself.

Aluminium, 1.8 kg. Its telescopic legs adjust continuously from 51 to 109 cm, it folds away in seconds and travels in its bag, which is included.

Wood, from 50 to 96 cm. Its head is held between your legs to play seated without resting the instrument on your thighs; you then screw on the legs and extensions to play standing.
